[Women’s Soccer] Wildcats Fall to Benedictine, 3-0 in Heart of America Conference Quarterfinals

ATCHISON, Kan. – The Baker soccer team fell to Benedictine College on Saturday night in the Quarterfinals of the Heart of America Conference Tournament, 3-0.

Baker took 10 shots on the night with five being on goal, while the Ravens were able to get off 22 shots with nine on goal. Haleigh Harris and Georgia Vernardakis led the team with three shots each. Vanessa Silva was in goal for all 90 minutes as she picked up a total of six saves on the evening.

Benedictine was able to get on the board within the first 13 minutes of the game as Maisy Louree scored with 32:30 left in the first half to take at 1-0 lead. The Ravens then added to their lead with 7:50 to go in the first half, pushing their lead to 2-0 heading into halftime.

The Baker defense held strong for most of the second half, but with 8:22 left in the game, the Ravens added one more goal to their lead, winning the game, 3-0.

The Wildcats finish the season with a record of 10-7-1, after posting a record of 5-5-1 in Heart of America play.
