TNC Predator is moving on to the main event of the ONE Esports Dota 2 Singapore World Pro Invitational – albeit barely.

The Philippine-based squad’s victory over Team Aster in day one of the tournament proved to be enough as they advanced to the lower bracket of the major with three points (1 win, 1 draw, 3 losses) after five matches.

It was a terrible second day for TNC, getting swept by both Team Secret and Virtus.Pro – but they get another lease in life as they held on to the fourth and final spot of Group A. TNC pulled ahead of J. Storm, who finished with three points, but failed to get a win in the eliminations with three draws and two losses.

Team Alliance (4-1-0) and Team Secret (3-2-0) pulled through to the upper bracket with nine points and eight points respectively, as Virtus.Pro joined TNC in the lower bracket after finishing with five points.

Meanwhile, Evil Geniuses (4-1-0) and Gambit (2-3-0) both came out unscathed in Group B to advance to the upper bracket. Vici Gaming (1-3-1) and Na’vi (2-1-2) were relegated to the lower bracket after both getting five points.

PSG.LGD and Team Liquid faced the axe with J.Storm and Team Aster.

TNC is drawn with Vici.Gaming in the lower bracket on Friday, 20 December after a rematch of MDL Chengu Major in the grand finals last November that TNC eventually won 3-1.

Virtus.Pro and Na’vi battles it out in the second lower bracket pairing.

The upper bracket main pairings go at it on Thursday, 19 December with Alliance battling Gambit and Evil Geniuses taking on Team Secret.

A pool of US$500,000 is at stake with the winner getting US$200,000, the runner-up getting US$100,000, and the third place winner taking home US$60,000.
