This weekend, Ferrari’s F1 esports exhibition, which honors the winner with a spot in the team, concludes the grand finale of the Ferrari Driver Academy (FDA) Hublot Esports Series.
The event starts today – and finishes Saturday – in its penultimate step and will feature 24 racers, 12 amateur and 12 professional. As stated, for the next season of the F1 Esports Series, the winner will secure a place on the Ferrari Driver Academy beginning in 2021.
The event was funded by a number of partners including Hublot. The watchmaker has been the official Ferrari partner outside sports since 2011. Ferrari also attracted Thrustmaster as its technical partner for the case, the gaming peripherals manufacturer.
In the limited edition of the carmaker, F1 Ferrari athlete Charles Leclerc and Ferrari-produced Gaming headsets are showcased on its website as blue-light safety Ray-Ban glasses for gamers. However, it will also ultimately boost his own sports team and grow the sim racing competitive environment. The event highlights the Ferrari approach to using esports as a technique to maximize his passion for the younger audience.
F1, which was instigated by the COVID-19 lockdown, was reinforced by an appearance on national television before this year. As a result, a total of 30 million viewers on TV and digital media channels participated in virtual Grand Prix events — while average minute viewing figures are difficult to access for streams of sites, making it difficult to assess the real longevity of the sports compared to other sports games.
A combination of COVID-19 lockdown and the participation of professional athletes in streaming platforms, including racers Charles Leclerc and Lando Norris and the British cricketmaker Ben Stokes, triggered much of F1’s impressive viewing in 2020.
